We call the energetic work that we do, by removing negative energies, geopathic disturbances, spirits and and other anomalies, "Clearings." Our goal is to clear the living space and sometimes the very personal space of our clients and return to a neutral, benign environment that can then be filled with light, love and harmony. Often, and this seems to be more frequent of late, the homes we visit are very cluttered, some verging on hoarding. It is an obvious indication that a healthy flow of energy is blocked in many ways.
Feng Shui principles are a part of our practice and the basic goal in Feng Shui is to promote the constant flow of energy throughout the environment. Blocking the energy with objects that prevent a natural path for the energy results in stagnation and the inability to purge negative energy. It is analogous to blocking an artery or choking the breath. You see this in homes or businesses that do not have an obvious means of entry, a "hidden door," or an uninviting entrance that is obstructed by walls, furniture or a staircase.
Clutter affects specific areas in different ways. When a bed is surrounded by boxes and clothing piled around it, or even when one side of the bed is up against a wall, it prevents circulation and movement in your life. Blocking one side prevents you from "sharing the bed" with another. There is no room for a partner in your life. It is best to have a bed in a position that allows easy movement around it. A bed should also always be on a frame that allows air to move beneath it. One of the profound changes that can be brought about is by removing a heavy chest or piece of furniture at the foot of the bed. This simple action allows you to move forward in life, removing an impediment to travel.
When we are called for help in making changes in a space, because the home feels oppressive, dark or just off, we find that what the home needs is a cleaning, more than a clearing, or at least a cleaning and organization first. Then the clearing can be far more effective. Sometimes we accumulate things and surround ourselves with objects and memories in an attempt to feel grounded. Instead this is just weighing us down, not connecting us to the earth.
So look around, if you can't find what you are looking for, if you have to walk around something to get where you need to go, open the path, bring in the light and lighten your life.
